Am I suitable for this treatment?

Are dermal fillers safe?

Dermal fillers are FDA approved products and are considered to be a very safe treatment. It is important when considering where to have your treatment that your chosen practitioner is appropriately trained and qualified as an injector. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, dermal fillers may not be recommended for you as to date, there is no research to suggest that they are a safe option.

Will it hurt?

At Nassif MedSpa, injectable treatments such as dermal fillers are administered using a very fine needle in order to minimise any discomfort that inserting a needle may incur. If the patient wishes, a numbing cream may be applied to the treatment area prior to the procedure (approx. 20 – 30 minutes) to ensure the application remains pain free. Any sensitivity should only last as long as the duration of the actual treatment.

Are there any side effects or risks?

It is normal for patients to experience some slight redness, itching and swelling at the point of injection, which will ease within 24 hours of having the treatment. Bruising may also occur which can easily be covered using make-up and will usually have disappeared of the course of a few days. During your pre-treatment consultation you will be given information about the potential of less common risks of having dermal fillers. How much downtime can I expect?

There is little to no recovery / downtime needed after your dermal fillers and you should be able to return usual activities very soon after treatment. Any side effects are often minor and do not cause any disruption to your ability to carry on with your day however, you may be given some aftercare advice to ensure the fillers settle successfully into the structure of the skin.
