A weak chin and jaw sees this feature less well defined than a person would like. The natural shape of the jawline is often softer and rounder in appearance, with the chin sitting further back towards the neck.

Genetics are the most common reason why a person has a weak chin and jaw; sometimes referred to as a receding chin. Just like the rest of the body the way you look, the shape of your body and your unique colouring is all down to the genes you inherit through your parents.

About this condition

The concerns that arise from the appearance of this condition are mainly aesthetic, with men often feeling that a more defined jawline fits with a look that is stronger and more masculine. It is not often that a weak jawline causes problems with eating or speaking, however, a noticeable overbite (which can rarely have an effect) can make the jawline also seem weak in appearance.

The ageing process can lead to alterations in the density of the bone structure. For the jawline this can mean that as volume decreases, the skin is less supported and can start to sag. Sagging skin can then sit heavy around the jawline, concealing the sharp look of a strong jaw bone.

Reducing the look of a weak chin can often be achieved through the application of dermal fillers. Placed at various points along the chin and jaw, the smooth injectable gel adds volume beneath the skin, accentuating the look of this feature.

  I have been to see Amanda a few times now to help with the appearance of my acne scarring and redness. On my first appointment we had a very very thorough consultation which I really appreciated. I then went onto have halo and profractional laser, the aftercare was amazing and she was always on hand to answer any queries over message on her weekend! I have recently been for a checkup where I had more treatment in her own time just so I can get the best results possible.   The Hydrafacial Platinum was absolutely fantastic, hands down the best facial I have ever had. My skin felt gorgeous afterwards and the whole experience was relaxing and rejuvenating. Nina was lovely, friendly and explained each stage, which was very reassuring. Amanda and Andi were so welcoming and professional. The clinic is beautifully clean and well presented.   An excellent clinic, highly recommended! I visited Nassif Medspa initially for BBL treatment, but soon progressed to Moxi and Hydrafacial treatments. Amanda is a consummate professional, who listened to my (difficult) in-depth journey, and made recommendations to help. My skin has never looked better!
