Droopy Eyelids / Fallen Brows
The term ‘droopy eyelids’ (medically known as eyelid ptosis), refers to the sagging of the skin of the upper eyelid. The eyes are one of the main focal points of the face and play a huge role in how we communicate with others, as well as displaying facial expressions and in showing emotions.
Ageing is the most common reason we experience some drooping of the eyelids and in most cases begins around our late 30’s to early 40’s. Eyelid ptosis usually first presents itself in a mild form, whereby the crease of the eyelids begins to sit a little lower than in our 20’s. In some rare cases (mostly in people much older) where the condition is advanced, the eyelid can begin to cover more of the eye and therefore can cause impairment to the vision and / or normal function of the eye.
