Nasolabial Folds
Nasolabial folds are the creases that run from the edge of the nose, down towards the corners of the mouth. Most people will find they have nasolabial folds, however they can show themselves differently from person to person. These lines can appear as part of ageing features, often becoming more noticeable as time goes by.
This condition is often caused by the same internal processes that contribute to other ageing-related concerns. Weakened skin is a result of the natural loss of collagen and elastin from the skin’s structure, which also leads to a lack of facial volume and a drier complexion.
As skin weakens and fatty tissue shifts position, a heavy look can appear around the lower part of the face, which can pull down on the cheeks and accentuate the look of nasolabial folds.
