The appearance of a face shape that is wider at the top, tapering towards the chin, is often connected with a youthful look. This form often sees the features looking full and firm, with a well-defined jawline, high cheekbones and smooth skin.
As we get older the facial structure can experience volume loss as the natural fat pads shrink and the underlying tissues of the skin lose density. This causes the natural contouring of the face to change and the features to appear less defined as sagging skin causes a heavy look to develop around the lower part of the face.
