Double Chin
A double chin is one of those conditions that leads many people to feel unhappy with their appearance and is caused by a build-up of submental fat beneath the chin.
Certain lifestyle choices, such as a poor diet, lack of exercise and alcohol consumption can be factors that lead to gaining weight, and the development of a double chin. Ageing can also contribute as skin loses its elasticity. Skin that is less flexible can become loose and start to sag. For the area under the chin this can hang downwards for which fatty deposits can fall into, giving the perception of a weighty appearance.
