Tired eyes are a common condition that people usually experience as a result of ageing or lifestyle. As we age, the hollows beneath our eyes become more pronounced as the skin starts to lose elasticity and volume.

In addition to this, the skin beneath our eyes is thinner than that of the rest of the face, and the veins beneath the eyes can become apparent giving us a tired appearance.

Collagen and elastin are two proteins naturally found in the skin, and as we age the production of collagen and elastin begins to deplete leaving us with skin that is less hydrated and loses its ability to ‘bounce back’, therefore leaving us with skin that may require some assistance to maintain its youthful state.

About this condition

Whilst ageing is one reason we take on a tired look, our lifestyle as well as genetics and environmental factors can also contribute to this concern. It is important to consider these factors when diagnosing the cause of tired eyes as often the treatment will be combined with minor lifestyle enhancements.

Hydration is one key area to consider. We should look for great skin hydration in order to help maintain a less tired look, as well as to aid in keeping the skin plump and bouncy and the hollows less pronounced.

The more defined the hollows, the more the area above these can cast discrete shadows over this area making the under eye present as dark circles which is a classic sign of tiredness.

Of course, a great sleep pattern is also an important way to help control the look of tired eyes, as is a healthy diet and appropriate level of exercise. We all know that inner health is essential to appear bright and alert, as well as to feel our very best.

My first treatment was a hydrofacial with Alice, and from the moment I walked in, I was warmly welcomed by Elisha. She was so kind and made me feel comfortable right away, which instantly set the tone for a wonderful visit. The clinic itself is stunning—beautifully designed, clean, and with such a relaxing atmosphere that it truly feels like a luxury retreat. Alice, who carried out my hydrofacial, is an incredibly experienced therapist and also one of the kindest people I’ve ever met in a treatment setting. She explained everything clearly, was so gentle and professional throughout, and really took the time to make sure I was comfortable. The treatment left my skin absolutely glowing, and I could immediately see and feel the difference. Three weeks later, I returned for fractional and BBL laser treatments, and once again, I was welcomed with the same warmth and professionalism, this time by Amanda. She is incredibly sweet, polite, and attentive, and she made me feel completely at home throughout the process. These were treatments I had been considering for a long time, and I had spent quite a while searching for the right clinic where I would feel confident and cared for. I am so glad I found this place—it exceeded all of my expectations. The results have been fantastic, and I am truly thrilled with the improvement in my skin. Beyond the treatments themselves, what makes this clinic stand out is the team. Alice’s expertise and kindness, combined with Elisha and Amanda’s warm and welcoming nature, made me feel so valued and looked after. Everyone I’ve interacted with has been genuinely professional and caring, which makes such a difference when you are trusting someone with your skin and well-being. I was put at ease straight away. Amanda was amazing.  Talked me through everything and no question was too much trouble to answer (and there were a lot).  She even suggested removing a mole that was close to my eye.  Natalie who did the treatment was awesome too.  Kept asking if I was ok and informing me every step of the way what was happening and what she was going to do. I had the BBL X HALO which after numbing was more or less pain free.
