Laser Hair Removal in Manchester

Looking for laser hair removal in Manchester? At Nassif Medical Spa, we provide advanced laser hair removal for both men and women using the industry leading Cynosure Elite+ laser platform.

Our medical led clinic in MediaCity, Salford Quays combines advanced technology with personalised treatment plans to safely and effectively reduce unwanted hair across a wide range of skin tones and hair types.

Whether you’re concerned about facial hair, body hair, ingrown hairs or hormonally driven hair growth, laser hair removal offers a long term alternative to shaving, waxing and other temporary hair removal methods.

Why Choose Laser Hair Removal?

Shaving, waxing and hair removal creams can be time consuming, irritating and only provide temporary results.

Laser hair removal targets the hair follicle directly, reducing future hair growth whilst helping to minimise razor rash, ingrown hairs and irritation. As treatment progresses, hair typically becomes finer, lighter and less dense, leaving skin smoother and easier to maintain.

Most patients require a course of 6–8 treatments, although this varies depending on your skin type, hair characteristics and treatment area.

Why We Use Cynosure Elite+

At Nassif Medical Spa, we use the Cynosure Elite+, one of the most advanced medical grade laser systems available.

Unlike many systems that use a single wavelength or IPL technology, the Elite+ combines Alexandrite 755nm and Nd:YAG 1064nm lasers. This allows us to tailor every treatment according to your skin tone, hair type and treatment area, improving both safety and results.

Alexandrite 755nm

Ideal for lighter skin tones with dark, coarse hair, providing fast and effective long term hair reduction.

Nd:YAG 1064nm

Designed for darker skin types, penetrating deeper into the follicle whilst minimising absorption by surrounding pigment, making treatment safer and more effective.

Laser Hair Removal vs IPL

Although often confused, laser hair removal and IPL are not the same.

Laser uses a single, focused wavelength to precisely target the hair follicle, providing greater accuracy and more predictable long term results than IPL, which uses a broad spectrum of light.

Treatment Areas

Laser hair removal can safely treat almost any area of the face and body, including:

  • Upper lip
  • Chin
  • Jawline
  • Neck
  • Underarms
  • Bikini and Hollywood
  • Legs
  • Back
  • Chest
  • Shoulders
  • Abdomen

We also commonly treat PCOS related facial hair and ingrown hairs.

What Results Can I Expect?

Laser hair removal provides long term hair reduction, not instant hair removal.

Most patients notice treated hairs shedding within one to two weeks, with continued improvement after each session. Hair becomes finer, slower growing and less noticeable over time.

Maintenance treatments may occasionally be recommended, particularly where hormonal factors influence hair growth.

Is Laser Hair Removal Suitable for Me?

Thanks to the dual wavelength Cynosure Elite+, we can safely treat a broad range of skin tones and hair types.

During your consultation, we assess:

  • Skin type
  • Hair colour and thickness
  • Medical history
  • Hormonal influences
  • Treatment goals

This allows us to create a personalised treatment plan designed specifically for you.

Your Treatment Journey

Every treatment begins with a consultation and patch test.

Following assessment, we’ll recommend a personalised treatment plan and explain the expected number of sessions, aftercare and realistic outcomes.

Following treatment, temporary redness is common and usually settles quickly. Treatments are spaced several weeks apart to coincide with your natural hair growth cycle.

FAQs

Am I suitable for laser hair removal?

You will need to attend a pre-treatment consultation at Nassif MedSpa, which is used to determine your suitability for this treatment and to perform a small patch test.

How many sessions of laser hair removal will I need?

Most patients need a course of 6–8 sessions, spaced 4–6 weeks apart, to achieve longer-lasting hair reduction, followed by occasional maintenance sessions.

Is laser hair removal permanent?

Laser hair removal significantly and permanently reduces hair growth over a full course of treatment, though some patients choose occasional top-up sessions to maintain results long-term.

Is laser hair removal suitable for all skin tones?

Yes. The dual-wavelength Cynosure Elite system we use is specifically designed to treat broad range of skin tones safely and effectively. This will be assessed at your consultation.

Is laser hair removal treatment safe?

The use of lasers has been around since the 1960’s and have seen much development over the years. With as many as 30 machines in the UK with variable treatment indications and limitations, it is down to the consultation to offer specific advice and information about the procedure and type of machine to be used, with expected treatment outcomes and associated risks.

What should I avoid pre and post laser hair removal treatment?

Before your laser hair removal treatment, you should avoid:

  • Waxing, threading or plucking for at least 4–6 weeks
  • Excessive sun exposure and sunbeds
  • Fake tan products
  • Certain photosensitising medications, where advised by your practitioner

Shaving is usually recommended before treatment, as the laser targets the hair follicle beneath the skin.

Following your laser hair removal treatment, we recommend avoiding:

  • Direct sun exposure
  • Sunbeds
  • Hot baths, saunas and steam rooms for 24–48 hours
  • Vigorous exercise for 24 hours
  • Harsh exfoliants or active skincare products on the treated area
Can men have laser hair removal?

Absolutely. Laser hair removal is increasingly popular among male patients looking to reduce unwanted hair on areas such as the back, chest, shoulders, neck and beard line. Men may also choose treatment to reduce irritation caused by shaving, improve athletic performance or simply achieve a cleaner, more groomed appearance.

Does laser hair removal hurt?

Most patients describe a warm, snapping sensation rather than pain. Treatment is generally well tolerated, and the Cynosure Elite system is designed for a more comfortable experience.

Are there any side effects or risks?

The skin can appear slightly red after treatments and the hair follicles which have been treated may appear raised and bumpy for up to 48 hours. Itching can occur in some individuals, several days after treatment which tends to mild and will subside. Other side effects are rare and will be explained during your pre-treatment consultation.

How much downtime can I expect?

Although a few minor side effects may occur following the procedure, there is very little downtime attached to the laser hair removal treatment. When you leave the clinic you should be able to continue with your day as you normally would, only feeling some very slight sensitivity of the skin.

Why choose laser hair removal over waxing or shaving?

Unlike shaving and waxing, laser hair removal targets the hair follicle itself to significantly reduce future hair growth. Shaving often needs to be repeated every few days, while waxing can be painful and requires regular maintenance. Laser hair removal offers a more convenient long-term solution, helping patients enjoy smoother skin, fewer ingrown hairs and reduced reliance on ongoing hair removal routines.

What areas can be treated?

We treat most areas of the face and body, including the upper lip, underarms, legs, back and bikini area. Your consultation will confirm the best approach for the areas you’d like treated.
